“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” – e.e. cummings
I’ve been a “closet” jewelry artist for years, manipulating metal as a way to escape the chaos of life as a mom, author, and entrepreneur. One day, someone saw one of my pieces and asked where she could buy them. Additional requests followed, and the rest, as they say, is history.
That said, if anyone had suggested even five years ago that at this point in my life I’d have 5 kids, 3 dogs, a studio filled with metal and files and polishing wheels, and designs coming to me in the wee hours of night, I’d have laughed.
Which is why I’m slowly learning that planning is (somewhat) pointless.
I’m passionate about creating pieces and collections that reflect my approach to life: sometimes deep, sometimes snarky, always honest. Recycled and upcycled materials are among my favorites; there’s nothing better, for example, than spying a unique rock lying amidst thousands of others, simply waiting to be noticed, and then featuring it as the focal point of a gorgeous cocktail ring. Each of my pieces is individually handmade, allowing for slight variations in each which only add to the spirit and character of the piece.
You can find out more about my books at my author website: www.elizabethlyons.com and learn about the Hold It Baby! On-the-Go Toy Organizer (the product I invented to prevent parents from continually hearing “Uh oh” as their kids drop—or throw—items from their car seat, stroller, high chair, etc.) on the extremely fun and highly informative Hold It Baby website.
I would love to connect with you on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or via e-mail (elizabeth@elizabethlyons.com).
If you need to reach me immediately, you can likely find me at my nearest Starbucks.
Thanks for stopping by!
